Our Day at the TSR Motorshow at Leicester Race Course
So, we got asked if we would like to attend the TSR Motorshow at Leicester Race Course on 14th August.
It was a bit of a last minute thing, but we couldn't resist the opportunity to check out some of the best classic and performance cars in the country and also display our modest kids ride-ons.
The show was for a good cause, supporting Shivam Nathwani, a 24-year-old with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a muscle wasting disease.
Despite having a tracheotomy and specialised breathing equipment, he was able to pursue his passions during this 2020 lockdown and follow his motor business journey.
The day started off early by loading our cars in the back of our van.
Thankfully, Leicester Race Course isn't that far from our showroom in Corby and it only took us 45mins door to race course.
I'm not going to lie. When we got there, it was a little overwhelming. There were already lots of stalls, super cars, classic cars and vintage motorbikes set up and gleaming in the sun.
Oh, did I mention sun. We knew it was going to be a hot one, so Vatan (one of the directors here at RiiRoo) made sure we were fully stocked up on sun cream, water and snacks.
We managed to find a spot to set up our gazebo and tables and began the process of unloading all of our stock.
As we were setting up, more and more people started to filter into the race course. It was great to see so many people coming out to support the event and also great to see so many classic cars.
We had a few people come over and ask us about our cars before the event had even started. It was great!!
The Setup
We laid our cars out in a neat semi-circle and inserted a small info sheet of each car including specs, prices and a QR link to our website.
To be honest, we weren't there to sell cars. We just wanted people to see what we had on offer and maybe come back to us at a later date.
Cue The Madness
The event started at 10am and it was non-stop chaos from there. We had a constant stream of people coming over to our stand, asking questions, taking photos and generally just enjoying themselves.
You know what it's like, as soon as kids see other kids playing and having fun, they just have to be a part of it.
So, we ended up giving a lot of free rides which the kids (and their parents) loved.
At one point we had 15 cars zooming around, parents taking photos, kids drifting in BMW M5 (which looked amazing, btw), it was actually quite hard to keep track of them all. It was crazy.
There were so many people at the event that it was difficult to move around and see everything, but we did manage to get a few snaps of some of the other cars on display.

What Cars Did We Take to the Show?
We took a total of 18 cars to the event. Our fleet included:
Mercedes 300s

Doing The Charitable Thing
During the course of the day we had so much interest in our Mercedes Actros Truck and Trailer, we decided to donate it to a good cause.
We made good friends with South Leicester Community First Responders, who are a team of local volunteers that provide emergency medical cover in South Leicester.
They do an amazing job and we were more than happy to donate our truck and trailer to them, so they can use it to help promote their cause and raise awareness of their work.
A Great Day Out
All in all, it was a great day out. We got to show off our cars, meet new people and do our bit for charity.
We're already looking forward to next year's event!
