10 of The Best Halloween Movies on Netflix (2022 EDITION)

Ahhh, it's that time of year again where the leaves start changing color, the temperature starts dropping, and all you want to do is curl up in a blanket on the couch and watch horror movies.

Yep, that's right - Halloween is almost upon us, we get an extra hour of down-time thanks to daylight savings, and there's nothing better than a good old fashioned horror movie marathon.

But with so many titles to choose from, it can be hard to know where to start so, we've put together a list of the 10 best Halloween movies on Netflix right now, perfect for getting you into the spooooooky spirit.

Let's start somewhere a bit more family-friendly:

1. The Curse of Bridge Hollow

In Marlon Wayans' new comedy film, he stars alongside Priah Ferguson and Tiffany Haddish.

The movie follows a suburban father/daughter duo (Marlon and Priah) who must team up to track down some missing kids on Halloween night whilst trying to save their town from Halloween decorations that have taken on lives of their own.

2. The School For Good And Evil

Sophie and Agatha have been best friends since kindergarden. But when they're both summoned to the academy for fairy tale heroes and villains, their friendship is put to the test.

Starring Kerry Washington, Charlize Theron, Laurence Fishburne, Michelle Yeo, and many more.

3. The Addams Family

You can't go wrong with this classic! The Addams Family follows the story of an eccentric family who are unaware that people find them strange or frightening.

They live in their own dark and gothic world where, to them, everything is normal - it's everyone else who is weird.

One of the most memorable aspects of this film is the amazing make-up and costumes, which were created by none other than Rick Baker, who also worked on An American Werewolf in London and Michael Jackson's Thriller.

Here are some suggestions for the teenager in your house:

4. There's Someone Inside Your House

A masked murderer is running around exposing high school students' deepest, darkest secrets and it's up to a group of outcasts to put an end to his crimes.

Based on the book of the same name by Stephanie Perkins, this is one horror movie that will have you on the edge of your seat.

5. The Fear Street Trilogy

Admittedly, this one is a bit of a cheat as there are three films to the series but, they can all be watched back-to-back on Netflix and they're all set around Halloween so, we're including them.

The Fear Street Trilogy is based on the book series of the same name by R.L Stine (of Goosebumps fame) and follows a group of teens who are being terrorised by a evil presence that's been haunting their town for generations.

6. Day Shift

In Day Shift, Jamie Foxx stars as Bud Jablonski, a seemingly average blue-collar dad just looking to provide for his daughter. However, in reality, he makes his money by hunting vampires – a job that's a lot more exciting than it sounds.

This movie has all the right ingredients: Horror! Comedy! Action! Thus making it a deliciously wicked mix!

Don't worry, we haven't left you parents out - take a look at these:

7. The Watcher

Believe it or not, this is based on a a true story. The Watcher follows the story of a young family who move into their dream home, only to be terrorised by an anonymous letter writer who has been stalking them.

With edge-of-your-seat suspense and plenty of jump scares, this is one movie that will have you checking all the locks before you go to bed!

8. Cabinet Of Curiosities

From the creator of Pan's Labyrinth and Hellboy comes a truly disturbing collection of short horror films, each one more terrifying than the last.

Some of the stories include a woman being stalked by a creature in her dreams, a family being haunted by a malevolent spirit, and a mother-to-be who's dealing with some very strange cravings.

9. Midsommar

A remake of the original, Midsommar is a folk horror movie about a group of friends who travel to Sweden for a summer festival that only happens once every 90 years.

What starts out as a fun trip quickly takes a turn for the worse when they realise that the locals are not what they seem. With stunning visuals and an unsettling atmosphere, this is one movie that's sure to leave a lasting impression.

Lastly, it wouldn't be a complete list if we didn't include an oldie but goodie:

10. Se7en

This is the classic psychological horror tale starring Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman. Two detectives are trying to track down a serial killer who appears to be selecting his victims based on where they fit into the seven deadly sins.

Chilling chaos ensues and with disturbing twists and turns at every corner, Se7en is a true classic that should not be missed!

So, there you have it: Our take on the 10 Best Halloween Movies on Netflix.
