If you're looking for a festive family tradition to enjoy in 2022, look no further than the pantomime!

Pantomimes are a British Christmas tradition enjoyed by people of all ages and usually tell a tale that is based on a well-known fairy tale or children's story - they started out being performed in the 17th century in theatres and inns, however, today most self-respecting schools, churches and other community venues will have their own version of the family-friendly show. christmas panto show

In recent times, TV celebrities and renowned actors have also been making appearances in some of the larger-produced pantomime performances around the UK, drawing even bigger crowds.

Tips For Getting Cheaper Tickets This Christmas:

For lots of families, Christmas could be difficult, financially; costs are increasing and incomes... well, incomes - not so much. To help make things easier around the festive season, here are a few tips for getting cheaper tickets to Christmas shows and pantos:

Timing is everything

As with most things booking-related, it falls into two camps: Booking early and booking last minute.

Booking early is great if you know exactly what your plans are and are happy to commit. Most shows will offer discounts for those who book in advance and you can often save quite a lot this way.

Booking last minute is great if you’ve been waiting for the right moment or just have some spare cash to spend, as prices tend to drop closer to the event itself - particularly on the day of the performance.

Pick seats near those considered the ‘best’

The best seats in the house - those at the front and centre - tend to be priced much higher than those near the sides or back.

However, you can often still get a good view from these seats, so they are worth considering if you’re looking for a bargain.

Book tickets in bulk

This applies to all shows, not just Christmas ones; book in bulk and you’ll usually receive a discount. This is because the theatre or venue wants to fill as many seats as possible, which means they will often offer discounts for those buying multiple tickets in one transaction.

It helps if you have friends and family who are available to attend with you - plus, it’s always more fun to go together!

Take advantage of loyalty schemes and student discounts

Many shows offer will loyalty schemes which can often provide discounts or special offers. Many theatres also offer student discounts on tickets - just make sure to bring your student card with you when buying.

Wrapping Up:

If you follow our advice, you should be able to get the best seats in the house without spending a fortune.

Remember, booking tickets in bulk and taking advantage of loyalty schemes can help you save money, so it's always worth considering these options before making your purchase.

And if you're a student, don't forget to take advantage of any discounts that may be available to you – armed with these insider tips, you should be feeling confident about getting the best seats in the house at the best price.

The next time you’re booking tickets for an event, keep these pointers in mind and enjoy watching from your prime spot!
