    Nice bike, kids love it

Overall very happy, but there are some points to consider for improvement.

It’s a solidly made bit of kit which good, but that rugged construction with the steel frame and lead acid batteries also ends up in it being quite heavy for kids to move around.

The weight also makes that little cable operated rear brake less than marvellous at stopping, especially if used on the higher speed setting or throw in a bit of a down slope… would have been nice to have had a front brake too, or at least the mounting options to more easily add one. Smaller hands may struggle to apply much force to the single rear brake, a cheap hydraulic unit might be a worthwhile upgrade to consider too. On the subject of rear brake ours arrived poorly aligned and rubbing the disc, but was quick and easy to adjust.

All that said, the kids are loving it. I’ve got a nearly 4yr old who can use it with the stabilisers for now and a nearly 7yr old that hoons around on fast mode and has a blast of a time. While I understand the idea behind making the fast/slow speed switch hard for a child to modify, it is also a pain to switch between if you have different age kids using the same bike… so I may need to look into extending the switch to somewhere easier for me to access. guess it depends on how cheeky your kids are whether you need to worry about it being accessible!

Overall it’s a great bit of kit with big chunky tyres and enough power to actually make use of them. Do be careful if using it with younger kids just due to the weight and power, even in slow mode it’s got some punch to the acceleration and carries some significant momentum.
