Most people don’t know this, but The Post Office Investigation Branch is the oldest criminal investigation force in the world.

Half Term Fun at Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum, Birmingham, West Midlands
With Space and Space travel becoming even more popular, why not treat your kids to day out at Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum?
Not only can they explore the best of UK exploration and what contribution we make, but it also provides more general information with lots of Space-travaganza activities around the museum.
While you are there, don’t let them miss an opportunity to visit the 4K Planetarium. This will definitely blow their socks off! The effects are out of this world (pardon the pun).

Treasure Trails, Various Locations
There’s no better half term activity than a good ole treasure trail. The various activities and shows are great, but what we really want is to spend time with the kids don’t we?

Time Travelling Heroes at The Royal Mint Experience, Pontyclun, Glamorgan and Cardiff 15th, 16th, 18th, 20th, 22nd February 2020
Ever wondered where all our money comes from? Do yourself a favour and take your kids down to The Royal Mint Experience. You will not regret it. They get to see first hand how coins are made and if they are lucky, may even end up in their pockets next week :)
Depending on where you are situated in the country, this is a bit of a trek. So if this is something that interests you, we would recommend leaving early to get there in good time.
First you will be taken on a guided tour of the factory (which produces a mind blowing 750 coins a minute) and then you get a brief chance to have a go at coin making yourself.
Depending on how good you are, you also get a chance to purchase your own coins for a small fee. After the tour, you have the opportunity of exploring 6 interactive zones with your kids.

Animate it! Aardman Model Making Workshop at Dreamland, Margate, Kent 15th February 2020
This is probably the coolest event by far on this list. Even if your kids are not into animation, they will absolutely get a kick out of this.
Dreamland is teaming up with Aardman Animations and are putting on an 3 x 1 hour animation workshops in the afternoon.
You and your kids will then get the opportunity to learn how to craft one of your favourite Aardman characters.
As a bonus you will also get to see screenings of some of the best Shaun The Sheep adventures and also Wallace and Gromit.
Now, spaces are limited to just 60 people per workshop, so if you think your kids would be interested in this, we recommend purchasing your tickets ASAP! They are priced at £12 and can be ordered online.
Under 14s need to be accompanied by an adult. The accompanying adult does not need to have a ticket.

Lambing Live at Avon Valley Adventure Wildlife Park, Bristol, Somerset and Bristol 15th - 23rd February 2020
Every child should be subjected to park and farm animals at a young age. Not only does this interaction do wonders for education, they get to see first hand how lambs are born if they are lucky!
Lambing Live at Avon Valley Adventure Wildlife Park is back with a bang! They will have 20 ewes ready to lamb both twins and triplets every day over the week in an indoor barn.
The parks’ shepherds will be on hand giving various talks throughout the day giving you the lowdown on the facts and happy to answer any of your lambing related questions.
The lambs will be on view during the day with your kids having the opportunity to even name them.
The good thing is, the park will be streaming live on social media both day and night, so you will never be far away from the latest updates with the lambs. You can basically see all the action as it happens!

I bet you didn’t know that we have a National Space Centre? Yes, in fact it is based in Leicester and will be focusing on the future of human life on Mars this year.
